Our meeting takes place every Tuesday at 18:00 in the meeting room (IM) 242. The meeting is open to the public and all FIM students have a right to vote. Minutes of past meetings can be found here.
We are the student representatives of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics - in short: the FSinfo. The student representatives are Johannes (email@example.com) and Paul (firstname.lastname@example.org).

We represent the interests of the students of our faculty, are in dialogue with staff, professors and university management and are involved in many committees. These include the extended university management, faculty council, student parliament and appointment committees as well as numerous other advisory boards and working groups. We campaign for the sensible use of student grants, longer opening hours of libraries, cafés and refectories, better WLAN, the creation of more working and learning spaces for students and financial support for university groups. Our expertise helps us in this work, so that we have already been able to very successfully introduce ideas in various places.
Get to know us before the lectures start during the orientation week! This week includes a colourful programme including a welcome, information session, campus rally, campfire and pub crawl. The events serve to clarify initial questions, facilitate an easy transition from school to university and enable students to explore the faculty and the university. It is important to us that the first-year students (Quietschies) have contact persons right from the start and get to know their future fellow students. If you have any questions or problems, we will of course be there to help and advise you even after the O-week. Whether it’s overlapping courses or the pitfalls of the examination regulations - we’re happy to help!
We organise numerous events - some of which have now achieved cult status at the faculty or even university. One of these was our legendary faculty party, which was held annually in the FIM for a decade. When this was no longer possible due to building measures, we established a new campus party instead in cooperation with the student council of the former Faculty of Humanities - read more about this in the article Tussi meets Nerd. In addition, we organise the FIM-Grillfeier for students and lecturers of our faculty every summer semester on one of the adjacent meadows of the FIM building.
Each of the five Passau faculties has its own student council, which consists of students from the respective faculty. Their composition is decided at the annual university elections. However, not only elected members sit on the student councils. Since a few of the “old hands” graduate every semester and thus leave the student council, it’s of course always great when many of the squeakies join us. Apart from having a lot of fun at the various events, you can take part in the activities of the student council mentioned at the beginning and learn a lot in the process.
